Morning Came the 55th Day
A tidy, interesting town. Our plan was to walk out to the Qantas Museum and the Stockman's Hall of Fame. But we got quite distracted on the walk.
Outside our accom. A themed venue. All the streets are named after birds..those North/South are land birds, East/west are water birds. Swan St .
The public art I have shared on FB. Our biggest distraction was the 2.5km walk out through the Botanical Walk. This is a lovely path, marked out in kms and steps, through native plantings all marked and described. An avenue of tea trees.
Too bad I can't capture the perfume. Diff wattles are in bloom and the foliages are great colours. 2.5km walk. Just as well the tourist god was with us. You had to book online for Qantas and next available was 18th! At the last minute 2 failed to show and we were in at 11am.The guide was full of knowledge and passion so 2 hrs just disappeared. We went under and through a DC3, 747, 707 and a Constellation. Maybe sometimes ignorance is bliss when flying! This was a fun thing from the past.....tourist scenes scrolling across the windows. The museum section was well done, 2.5 hrs worth.
Just for fun, I'm going to compare the cost of public transport..
We were last out the door at 4pm. Walked back to town. The 55th day ended somewhat tired. I had been on my feet all day without respite. Flopped into bed! And it's a great bed!
