Morning Came the 33rd Day
....early! Looked forward to today's bus trip in daylight. Heading for Exmouth. As we crossed the Gasgoyne and left the food bowl behind the country was everchanging.

Always flat to Coral Bay. A town jam packed with tourists! Not a bed anywhere.
Same goes for Exmouth..it was difficult when we booked 2 months ago. But I can report it was a warmer bus trip. The story is that if the bus is warm, the long straight distances make the driver drowsy, so the temp is kept fresh. I did notice this sign over the door!
They always have two drivers on board and mostly they are chatty- a good source of info.
Out into the heat. Exmouth's attraction is the Ningaloo reef. Just as well snorkeling and swimming with whale sharks is not our thing as it seems all tours are full. We came with a different plan.
But first we visited the Ningaloo Centre to see the origins of the town. In brief it was established as a communication base with the US. It had a role in WWII and is now a centre for prawn fishing.
The Centre had a great exhibition on the reef, so we did see som
e of the beautiful sea life.We were so engrossed we got locked in..didn't notice it had closed! Started to walk to the beach but decided it was too far this late ( since we didn't exactly know where a "beach" was exactly. But we did come across this Sturt Desert Pea

We are at the most westerly point of our journey. It feels unreal!
