Morning Came the 29th Day

And it was a never-ending day. Feeling bus experts we set off to find a lighthouse. It must be time to move on when a driver on the circular route gteeted us with,"Are you two still here!" We found the Indian Ocean..

...and Point Moore lighthouse. Plenty of reefs but the shore is dunes. We walked the beach..it was what I call sucky sand, with March Flies!

Got out of the dunes, onto a path, over the railway and highway, past the port silos and back to The Terrace.

A fab aspect of the waterfront redevelopment is a variety of playspaces; one for littlies totally enclosed, one for tweenies- more challenging and one for the "big kids". This has a huge variety of games, a physical challenge area and a  Crash Cage..totally enclosed area in which kids can play any ball sport.

We ended our trek back at the museum of Fr  John Hawes who designed and built the Cathedral. Amazing to see the size of the Geraldton Diocese, shown as the circle with UK Ssuperimposed.

Then the risky part. Due to catch a bus at the old railway station at 1.20am. Miss this and it was curtains. Ordered a taxi for 12.25am, to ensure time for mishaps. 12.45 no taxi! Too late and too far to even contemplate walking with our bags.  Rang again explaining the urgency. The call centre seemed to get it. 5mins later..text he had been dispatched. 7 mins later he arrived..cool as a cucumber, no panic, no hurry. Probably good as that calmed us too. In came the bus. Some passengers had been on since Perth so were sleeping. We were ready for a nap. Nuh. It was an older bus. I wondered why everyone else hopping on had a blanket, thick jacket etc. The bus was freezing! Only two a/c settings apparently, cold and fan. Just had to bear it.
And so ended the 29th day, freezing in the tropics!
