Morning came the 17th Day

....too early! The leg to Kalgoorlie is one of two not serviced by public transport. No one can leave the Idian Pacific there. So we chose to fly to Perth and train back to the goldfields. 6am flight...so starts the day; golden wings travelling west

After a riverside breakfast on a glorious morning we agreed the King's Park was best use of the sunshine.  Between us we have  masses of photos. It was  beyond words, especially with my expert guide.

Just a couple of botanicals....

The Federation Walkway

Back in the city we stumbled on two interesting things.
1. The London Arcade. A true curiosity

.how it came about

Remarkably all the shop fronts have been retained but residential tenants no longer occupy upstairs.
2 An installation called Footsteps in Time

The sun was setting so it was difficult to capture all in their best light

The Dutchman at the back is dark but he was a lovely piece of work.
Speaking of artists, we met one in the flesh. We stopped to admire a new installation-

A man in a truck was checking it out and asked us what we thought. Turned out he was the sculptor Jon Tarry.

And he has a piece in Canberra, on the corner of Rudd and Moore Sts.

The public art in Perth is so prolific.. too much for here but some really stunning work.
Then word came of more Covid cases, possible lockdown again. One immediately starts to think of what might we need to change. But no use even thinking until tomorrow morning's press conference.
An uncertain ending to a wonderful day
