Morning comes the 3rd Day

SATURDAY: a brief walk along the river opposite our motel, glorious sun, chill wind

We saw this lovely wooden boat, and then read the board. Surprised to find the original builder was Chtis' maternal great grandfather.

Read all about the restoration..great outcome.

Public transport is not much good without a bus-stop! Fortunately, the bus did come and did stop. Found out they are replacing all bus shelters. Luckily the Tas Gov had also recentl rejigged all bus routes and timetables; our tour may not have been possible under the old order. We will let them know when we complete how it works!

A morning in Devonport with intention, but a nice surprise. They are redeveloping the river front. And very nice too. Not an apartment in sight! We had a long chat with the tourism officer about the "town to the river"....sounds like our local "city to the river", but oh! So different in execution.
So we took our intentional walk put to the Bluff Lighthouse. Lovely opium poppy sculpture....

And now I don't apologize for the architectual  shots... truly engaging

High living..... and below a more down to earth but pretty cottage

And just plain stunning.

Our route passed the Spirit of the Sea sculpture....where it was blowing ++++
Around the beach edge and up to the lighthouse. Took a loop route back

C

Passing some lovely vegetation back to town and more contrasting buildings.

This is the local gov hub..library etc
Devonport appears a quite desireable place to live..but on we move. The next bus took us along the coast to Burnie. Our first walk to our hotel took us past a lovey sculpture and lots of lace....

And so ends the 3rd Day.
